ABOUT BOKHEE AN
Bokhee An was born in South Korea and moved to the United States in 1968 where she became a surgical scrub nurse. She worked first in neurosurgery and then went into cardiothoracic surgery, retiring after decades in the operating room in 2015. However, most people recognize Bokhee from her various roles in television and film including being in over 350 episodes of Grey's Anatomy, first appearing in the pilot 17 years ago! Bokhee was also seen in Nip Tuck, City of Angels, M.D.s, Chicago Hope, Vanilla Sky, Six Feet Under, Doogie Howser, M.D., and Buck James among others. In her free time, when not assisting in the operating room at Grey-Sloan Memorial, she enjoys reading and playing the gayageum (Korean musical instrument).
